8 Storm-Petrels are recorded around Japan. Japanese Band-rumped, Leach’s, Swinhoe’s, Tristram’s and Matsudaira’s Storm-Petrels are breeds in Japan, especially Japanese Band-rumped, Swinhoe’s and Matsudaira’s Storm-Petrels are endemic species. Grey-backed Storm-Petrel was seen and photographed off Torishima, Izu Is in Sep 6 2001.
