They are breeding at Torishima, Mukojima and Senkaku.
They are unique to Ogasawara Japan. Their breeding sites are only on three small islands.
Japanese Band-rumped Storm-Petrel
Japan has the only breeding population in West Pacific.
Their name ‘Bonin’ means the old name of Ogasawara Islands.
Some of them trip around Japan counterclockwise.
They are the most common tubenose in Japan.
